Chloe named in Australian Cycling Team for Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games

The Australian Commonwealth Games Association announced the 41-member team nominated by Cycling Australia for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow from July 23 to August 3, 2014 earlier today.

2010 Games bronze medallist Chloe was named in the six-member women’s road team which features reigning Australian road champion Gracie Elvin, Oceania time trial champion Shara Gillow, Tiffany Cromwell, Katrin Garfoot and Melissa Hoskins.

“It’s huge honour to represent Australia again,” Chloe said.

“I went to Glasgow to check out the course in May and I know it won’t be an easy race but I’m confident with the plan my coach and I have mapped out that I will be prepared come race day,”

“The Commonwealth Games in Delhi in 2010 were my first major Games experience, I think I’ve grown and developed a lot as a rider since then so I’m really looking forward to racing with the other girls and trying to get the best possible result for Australia, we want to keep the gold medal on our soil!” she said.

The women’s road race will be held on August 3 and will be raced through the centre of Glasgow city.
